Packing and moving a home has myriad facets, all of which need attention simultaneously. There is one aspect, however, which often escapes the mind during the involved chaos. It is the type of house you are moving to. Broadly speaking, there are two opposing house types – apartment vs independent house. Both need a difference in planning because of the differences of their building types –

1 Multiple floor movement

The number of floors involved is the most obvious difference between moving to an apartment vs independent house. Items movement to an apartment need either an elevator or a hoist. In few cases, manual labor is needed to carry the items all the way up where lifts cannot be used for material transfer. This is not the case when moving to an independent house.

2 Timing restriction in moving to an apartment

Most, if not all, apartment complexes impose a timing restriction for commercial vehicle entry and labor movement. This is necessary to avoid inconvenience to its other residents. However, it drastically limits the time frame for your items to be packed and moved. This calls for detailed planning, which may not be needed for moving to an independent house.

3 Vehicle access for apartment vs independent house

Access needed for a commercial vehicle to move your items is an important factor. When moving to an independent house, the access depends on the immediate locality. It may be an easily accessible, broad road which can accommodate a big truck, or it may be a narrow lane whose width is inadequate for a small car. Plans of apartment buildings, on the other hand, already include such considerations. This makes moving to an apartment much smoother.

Packing and moving to any type of house needs good planning. We hope that the tips we provide will help making your planning more comprehensive and your move stress-free.
